The Martin D-28 Modern Deluxe takes one of the most iconic dreadnought guitars ever made and enhances it with premium materials, modern innovations, and vintage-inspired tone. Designed for players who love the legendary power and richness of a D-28 but want elevated performance and feel, the Modern Deluxe delivers exceptional depth, clarity, and responsiveness.
Featuring a solid spruce top paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D-28 Modern Deluxe produces the bold bass, strong projection, sparkling highs, and complex overtones that have made the D-28 a favorite among generations of musicians. Martin’s Vintage Tone System (VTS) treatment gives the top a more mature, played-in character, providing warmth and openness right from the start.
Premium construction details further set the Modern Deluxe apart, including Adirondack spruce VTS bracing, a lightweight carbon fiber bridge plate, Liquidmetal bridge pins, and protein glue construction. Together, these features help increase volume, sustain, and responsiveness while maintaining the unmistakable character of a traditional Martin dreadnought.
A comfortable neck profile and smooth ebony fingerboard provide excellent playability for flatpicking, rhythm work, fingerstyle, and everything in between. Elegant appointments give the guitar a refined appearance while still honoring the classic styling of the legendary D-28.
For the player looking for traditional Martin tone with modern performance upgrades, the Martin D-28 Modern Deluxe delivers a powerful, inspiring acoustic experience worthy of its iconic name.
